A Look At The Baby Gift Registry- How Gift Giving Has Changed Over The Years
In the past, a baby shower would be thrown for women expecting their first child. Now, baby showers are still being held for parents welcoming in their first child, but many of the details have changed. The same fun games, great food and wonderful company exists but the method of choosing and purchasing gifts has changed a lot over the years.
The baby shower registry or baby gift registry has really changed all of that. It works on exactly the same principal as a wedding gift registry. It allows expectant parents to list items that they want particularly such as a particular model of Perego stroller. There are a few things that you need to know about creating and using a gift registry effectively.
The first thing that an expectant parent should think about is requesting gifts that cover a range of prices. You may want to include large ticket items such as a new crib, stroller or bassinette. You should also include items that are more reasonably priced such as particular sizes and colors of clothing, crib bedding or even a Philips baby monitor or other baby monitoring devices. This allows guests with more limited budgets to select gifts that are within their price range.

For this reason you want to make sure that you include a large number of these items on your list. You may think that it is unnecessary to have a huge number of cloth items on hand but you may find that you have need of them once the baby is home.
In fact, it is not uncommon for guests to pick one or more items that belong to the same theme. This could mean that you may get groupings of swaddling blankets, one piece sleepers, washcloths, towels and other linens. If you have asked for crib linens that are a certain pattern, you may want to ask for others that may be plain but in a coordinating color. This can make it easier for you to match when your patterned crib linens get dirty. It also makes it possible for them to be included as part of a gift basket.
Take the standard diaper pail which many parents register for. This is an incredibly useful piece of equipment. You can always look at purchasing the diaper containment device and using it as a container for sleepers, onesies and other cloth items that the parents have registered for. Using items such as a baby bath tub and filling it with bath items like washcloths and towels can be a great way for you to make a memorable and visually stunning gift basket.
